Subject to budgetary approval, the Department of Applied Mathematics has an Acting Assistant Professor (non-tenure-track) position available starting Autumn Quarter 2015. Applicants should hold a doctorate in applied mathematics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field of quantitative finance, and should show outstanding promise and/or accomplishments in both research and teaching. The successful candidate should have primary research and teaching interests in one or more areas of quantitative and computational finance, including but not limited to derivative pricing, quantitative risk management, portfolio optimization, algorithmic trading, high-frequency methods, simulation methods and high-performance computing in finance.
The successful candidate is expected to engage in teaching (full teaching load is one course/quarter), research, a small amount of service, and as such will contribute to the evolution of the existing MS degree program in Computational Finance and Risk Management.
