One PhD and one Postdoc position at School of Mathematics, University of Leeds, United Kingdom. The postdoctoral position (3 years) is funded by the research project “QuantiCode (Intelligent infrastructure for quantitative, coded longitudinal data)” funded by EPSRC. The PhD position is funded by the School of Mathematics and open to EU/EEA candidates.
This is an exciting opportunity to build new mathematical and computational tools to analyse longitudinal data in massive databases. You will have access to high-performance computing resources and large medical and consumer databases within Leeds Institute of Data Analytics. The scope of the projects is not to apply well-known tools to a new problem but to provide a new methodology for the type of data that has not received very much attention in statistics and machine learning but which is badly needed to make the best use of data becoming available in many areas.
