The Department of Statistics invites applications for one position at Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer level and two positions at Lecturer level, following the retirement of senior academic staff. The Department is the largest in Australasia with thriving undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, and a strong PhD programme. Research interests span a broad range of theoretical and applied fields. The department welcomes applicants with research in any area of statistics or probability, but is especially interested in forming productive collaborations inside the department or with other departments at the University.  Areas of particular interest include data science, applied probability, forensic statistics, statistics education,  social statistics, and financial analytics.
Successful applicants will be expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise student research projects and PhDs, develop and run their own independent research program, and participate in the organisation and running of the department.
Applicants at the Lecturer level should have or be about to complete a PhD in Statistics or a closely related discipline; appointments at the Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor level should have a record of excellence and leadership in teaching and research.
Applications close on 8 May 2017.
