The Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington invites applications for a temporary postdoctoral position in computational or mathematical finance, starting September 16, 2018. This full-time temporary Research Associate position is renewable for a total duration of three years.
Successful applicants are expected to engage in research and teach up to 3 one-quarter courses each year of the appointment. It is expected that both courses will be in the department’s Computational Finance and Risk Management (CFRM) Master’s program, see http://depts.washington.edu/amath/ and http://depts.washington.edu/compfin.
Requirements include (1) background and interest in many aspects of computational or mathematical finance; (2) a PhD in mathematics or applied mathematics or another area relevant to computational or mathematical finance; (3) an ability and affinity for communicating ideas of finance, in both research and teaching settings.
