The Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream position in Mathematical Finance. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. The application deadline is November 18, 2024.

Qualifications
Candidates Must Have:
- A PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related area by the time of appointment.
- Demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.
We seek individuals whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our department’s strengths, particularly in areas such as:
- Stochastic Control and Games
- Machine Learning in Finance
- Optimal Transport
- Market Microstructure
- Risk Management and Risk Measures
Research Excellence
The successful candidate will:
- Establish an innovative and independent research program at the highest international level.
- Demonstrate research excellence through publications, conference presentations, awards, and strong endorsements.
Teaching Excellence
The successful candidate will:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in actuarial science, mathematical finance, and statistics.
- Supervise students in the Department’s doctoral program in Actuarial Science and Mathematical Finance.
