We are pleased to announce a 1-year postdoctoral research fellowship within the Probability and Finance research group at the University of Padova, Italy.
The topic of the research project is “Stochastic Modeling and Control for Cyber-Risk Mitigation”. The researcher is expected to conduct research on continuous-time stochastic models, optimal control methods and computational techniques to quantify, manage, and mitigate cyber risk. The researcher is expected to collaborate with Giorgia Callegaro, Bernardo D’Auria, and Claudio Fontana.
Candidates must hold a PhD degree at the time of application and should have a solid background in stochastic calculus and, preferably, mathematical finance and/or actuarial mathematics.
The gross salary is EUR 30,456. The application deadline is expected to be around mid-September 2026, with the contract starting before the end of 2026. The position may also include teaching, teaching support, and tutoring activities. The Department of Mathematics is part of an international mobility network offering funded opportunities for research visits and collaborations with partner universities in Europe and worldwide.
