The Institute for Statistics and Mathematics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) has launched a process to identify suitable candidates for a tenure track assistant professor position in Mathematics for Economics and Business.  The successful applicant will carry out independent and research and supervision activities in the field of Applied Probability and Statistics.
We are particularly interested in researchers whose scientific work covers the mathematical analysis of applied probabilistic models and their computational and statistical realization. A proven interest in applications from the fields of economics, finance or business is an advantage, but candidates working in other application areas in the fields of social or environmental science are also encouraged to apply. Teaching duties associated with the position initially comprise 4 hours per week; they can be  in  quantitative education programs at WU at all levels (bachelor, master and PhD).
Applicants should hold a diploma or an MSc  and a PhD in (applied) mathematics or equivalent. We expect scientific excellence, documented by publications in internationally recognized journals and international experience. First managerial experience (e.g. acquisition and/or management of third-party projects) is an advantage. German language skills are not a prerequisite.
