our Department of Mathematics is currently seeking applicants for a full or part time, temporary version of this position. Applicants for the temporary position will also be considered for the full time position once that is posted, which we expect shortly.

Brief Job Description:
Under direct supervision of its Director and the Mathematics Department Administrator, manages the internship and career placement and employer contact development for the Mathematics Department’s Mathematical Finance Master’s Degree Program.
Builds successful relationships with current and prospective students, alumni, employers, participating faculty, and steering committee, and advisory board members. Participates in policy and planning. Develops, interprets and implements policies and procedures.
Develops quantitative finance industry employer relationships; makes a defined number of employer contacts and cultivates relationships with potential employers. Advises students on job searches and leads interview workshops. Manages the program’s “Quant Careers” internship and career placement system. Represents program at professional and educational marketing events.
Job Requirements:
Requires a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in business, communication, economics, finance or financial engineering, marketing, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and industry or academic experience which demonstrates understanding of professional master’s program administration, corporate employer relationship development, and program marketing.
A minimum of five years experience in employer development or graduate program managerial role of increasing responsibility that includes success in building employer relationships, demonstrated diplomatic negotiating, consensus building, collaboration, the use of promotional tools and techniques, and development of creative and innovative programs and strategies.
Ability to think strategically and independently, understand the roles of corporate managers and administrative staff in industry master’s and doctoral level science graduate hiring, and handle complex organizational detail.
Excellent communication skills; computer literacy to include industry standard software; career placement web database and email contact database management; social networking tools; experience articulating values, information, and compelling cases to multiple audiences, one-on-one, and through formal proposals or presentations.
Evidence of ability to establish internship and full-time career opportunities in financial engineering, recruiting, networking with corporate managers, and delivering career information to students.
Salary and Grade:
The permanent position has a URA-UFT Administrative Grade 6 salary in the in accordance with the schedules below:

The temporary position has a salary in the range $30,000 – $60,000.
