Applications are invited for a fully-funded PhD position in the Mathematics and Economics of 21st-Century Risks at the University of Amsterdam.

We seek outstanding and highly motivated applicants with a strong background in mathematics or econometrics, ideally with an emphasis on probability theory, mathematical statistics, optimization, financial and actuarial mathematics, or quantitative risk management. The position involves developing new concepts, methods and techniques to quantify the uncertainty surrounding 21st-century risks, and implementing them in financial-economic, environmental, and technological contexts.
