The Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Vienna is the largest Austrian institution of mathematical research and tertiary education in the mathematical sciences. It consists of active research groups in a wide range of fields, starting from logical foundations, bridging all classical core subjects, and up to concrete applications in industry. As part of the Faculty, the Institute of Mathematics represents the entire discipline of mathematics in research and teaching, without making an arbitrary separation into pure and applied fields.

Job Description:
The advertised prae doc position is associated with the chair for stochastics of Prof. Nathanael Berestycki (email: nathanael.berestycki@univie.ac.at).
We are looking for an independent, goal oriented scientist with research interests and a high level of competence in the field of stochastics and statistical mechanics. In addition to her/his independent research which should lead to writing a doctoral thesis, the successful candidate should participate in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement, including exams and evaluation of teaching processes, and administration.
Profile:
Diploma or master degree in mathematics, high level of competence in stochastics.

- International experience preferable
