This appointment will support the Graduate Certificate in FinTech and the Graduate Program in Mathematical Finance. Pending Provost budgetary approval, the anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2020.
We seek to add to our community of talented scholars who work in areas at the cutting edge of today’s research in financial technology or FinTech. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, machine learning and artificial intelligence in finance, cryptocurrencies, blockchains in finance, robo-advising, peer-to-peer financing, privacy issues related to financial data, and the wisdom of crowd and prediction markets, etc.
The research interests of the faculty members in the finance department are broad and inclusive–roughly balanced between developing new theories of financial markets and institutions and empirically investigating existing financial issues and questions. Faculty research programs develop and apply valuation methods, computational techniques, econometric methods, and empirical approaches to examine a wide variety of financial phenomena and policy issues. We seek candidates who will engage with this vibrant community.
The Finance department believes that the cultural and social diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the distinction and excellence of our research and academic programs. To that, we are especially eager to have join our ranks a colleague who supports our institutional commitment to ensuring BU is inclusive, equitable, diverse, and a place where all constituents can thrive. The Questrom School of Business seeks to continue diversifying our faculty, student and staff ranks, recognizing that diversity of experience and thought deepens the intellectual endeavor.
